Start with important user journeys
An accessible homepage does not prove everything works. Test enquiries, search, checkout or booking according to the business. Assign an owner to each check and record the result.
Updates need verification
A CMS or extension update may affect compatibility. Significant changes need a backup and recovery option; complex sites benefit from a test environment. An “updated” message is not a substitute for testing visitor tasks.
- Current contacts, prices and documents.
- Working forms, links and notifications.
- Backup status and recovery checks.
- Domain, hosting and certificate renewals.
Agree on boundaries
Routine care, urgent incident work and feature development are different jobs. Separating them early makes budgets and response expectations clearer. Keep a short record of completed work.
